53rd SCTM General Assembly – Elections Held for SCTM Bodies
During the 53rd SCTM General Assembly, elections for SCTM bodies were held, and the SCTM Strategic Plan for the period 2026–2030 was adopted.
City of Leskovac Chairs SCTM
The City of Leskovac will continue to chair the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM) in the next term, and the Mayor, Goran Cvetanović, addressed representatives of the cities and municipalities.
“This is not an honor for the City of Leskovac or for me personally, but above all a great responsibility towards you, towards the organization that for more than seven decades has brought together all local self-governments in Serbia,” said Cvetanović. He added that the new composition of SCTM bodies was elected and the Secretary General reappointed, ensuring continuity and stability while bringing new energy to the work.
“SCTM has proven over the past years that it can unite different voices into a single strong voice of local authorities, which is heard in dialogue with the government, in discussions with international partners, and which delivers concrete results on the ground. Our key priorities are clear and focused on what is most important for our cities and municipalities: their development, strengthening financial stability, decentralization, and reform of the local self-government system,” said Cvetanović, adding that SCTM remains a place for dialogue and a reliable partner for both authorities and international organizations.
Nikola Tarbuk Appointed as Secretary General
