In line with the process of drafting the SCTM Strategic Plan for the period 2026–2030, as determined by the SCTM Presidency, the consultations have been launched on the Draft SCTM Strategic Plan for the period 2026–2030.
As part of this consultation process, the SCTM invites its members and partners to review the Draft Strategic Plan and to submit their initial comments, proposals, and suggestions. The aim of the consultations is to gather feedback and suggestions from SCTM members (towns, municipalities, and city municipalities — i.e., from local MPs, mayors, members of LSG councils, and other officials and employees in local government bodies or institutions and organizations founded by LSGs) and SCTM partners (national and provincial institutions, international development partners - donors of projects implemented by the SCTM, partner associations, etc.) that could improve the Draft Strategic Plan prior to launching of the formal public debate.

The public debate on the Draft Strategic Plan of the SCTM for the period 2026–2030, is planned to take place in September 2025. In addition to collecting written contributions from the interested public, the Draft Strategic Plan will be discussed at the meetings of SCTM committees and forwarded to the offices of mayors, as well as to members of SCTM networks, in order to collect additional comments and suggestions.
