Enhancing the application of good governance principles in 12 LSGs

Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM), with the support of the Government of Switzerland within the Program "PRO - Local Management for People and Nature", will provide support to 12 local governments with the aim of enhancing the application of good governance principles at the local level.

Support to local self-governments is reflected in the implementation of specialized support packages for enhancing the application of good governance principles in three areas:

• Enhancing administrative efficiency and effectiveness at the local level - support for harmonization and standardization of administrative procedures and processes, improvement of knowledge and actions in accordance with the Law on General Administrative Procedure, the Law on Register of Administrative Procedures, the Law on Electronic Administration, and the Regulation on Office Operations. This type of support will be provided to: Arilje, Veliko Gradište, Kosjerić, Temerin and Ćuprija.
• Enhancing citizen participation and transparency at the local level - support for harmonization of actions in accordance with the relevant strategic and legislative framework related to the process of involving citizens in local self-government affairs, as well as transparency in the work of local self-government. This type of support will be provided to: Bogatić, Boljevac, Kuršumlija, Mionica and GO Pantelej-Niš.
• Enhancing the responsibility and prevention of corruption at the local level - support in the establishment and implementation of mechanisms for the implementation of anti-corruption policy in accordance with the valid anti-corruption legal and strategic framework. Vrbas and Vrnjačka Banja will receive this type of support.

The ceremony of signing the cooperation agreements will be organized on Thursday, February 29, 2024, in the premises of SCTM (Belgrade, Makedonska 22/VIII), starting at 12.

SCTM implements support packages as part of the project "Enhancing the application of good governance principles in LSGs", which is implemented within the Program "PRO - Local Management for People and Nature", which is jointly implemented by the United Nations Agencies in Serbia - UNOPS, UNICEF, UNFPA and UNEP, in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Serbia and financial support of the Government of Switzerland.
