A series of regional workshops held on housing support at the local level
In cooperation with the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities, within the framework of the project "Institutional Support to the SCTM - Third Phase" supported by the Government of Switzerland, has organised three regional workshops on the topic of housing needs and projects reporting. The workshops were organized in order to facilitate the process of preparation and submission of reports on housing projects and needs at the local level to local self-government units. This report is submitted in accordance with the Law on Housing and Maintenance of Buildings, every year by the end of February.
Bearing in mind that this is a relatively new obligation for LSG, and that during the previous year a part of LSG did not properly fill in the reports, the organisation of this activity started in cooperation with MCTI.
Regional workshops were held in Belgrade, Niš and Sremski Karlovci (29 January, 01 February, and 8 February) and were well attended by representatives of property legal and communal housing departments of local administrations. The attendees received detailed instructions on how to compile reports and data choices, and representatives of the SCTM presented an overview of housing support projects that are being implemented at the local level. Representative of MCTI, Svetlana Ristić, introduced the participants to the types of acts that need to be prepared in order to implement housing support.
During the workshops, initiatives were also gathered in connection with the implementation of the part of the Law on Housing that regulates the area of management and building maintenance, although this was not primarily a workshop topic. In conclusion, it was announced that SCTM will organise a meeting dedicated to this issue in the coming period, in order to gather initiatives for improving the implementation of regulations.
The workshops were attended by about 140 representatives of municipalities and towns.
