Possibilities of financing culture projects through European Union programs presented

Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM) and Creative Europe Desk of the Ministry of Culture jointly organized a seminar on possibilities of financing culture projects through European Union programs - Creative Europe and CERV, as well as national program "Capital of culture in Serbia".

Vuk Radulović, head of the Creative Europe desk of the Ministry of Culture, opened the event and presented the agenda of the seminar.

"Today we become partners in ensuring decentralization and equal distribution of European Union funds for financing projects in the field of culture throughout Serbia. We need to work together to encourage local self-governments, cultural institutions, and non-governmental organizations to apply", said Radulović.

Maja Knežević Romčević, Head of the Department for Education, Culture, Sports, and Youth of SCTM, emphasized the importance of Creative Europe, CERV and "Capital of culture in Serbia" programs, and reminded of long-term support provided by SCTM to local self-governments in the use of various funds.

"Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities can offer, which I believe will be helpful, a portal for monitoring the sources of financing projects for local governments, which include all public calls from international donor organizations, as well as republic and provincial funds. It is available on the SCTM website and is free of charge. We try to keep it updated and we hope that we will succeed in motivating you and that we will jointly increase our absorption capacity for various funds, especially those in the field of culture," added Maja Knežević Romčević.

Participants were then presented with opportunities for financing projects in culture through Creative Europe program, along with the priorities of this program and specific calls within this program that focus on projects of international cooperation and exchange. This was followed by presentation of the CERV program, as well as presentation of the " Capital of culture in Serbia " program.
