The City of Leskovac at the head of SCTM for two more years

At the 51^st SCTM General Assembly under the title "70 years of the SCTM - seven decades of local self-government development in the Republic of Serbia", elections were held for SCTM bodies. The City of Leskovac will be chairing the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM) in the next mandate as well.

On behalf of the City of Leskovac, president of Temporary Body of the City of Leskovac and president of SCTM in the previous mandate, MD Goran Cvetanović, said that it is a great honor to be re-elected for this position.

"Thank you very much, it is an honor, but also a great responsibility, to be in this place. Until now, we have removed many barriers that were in front of us, and all the topics we talked about today, as well as everything planned for 2024 and later in 2025, I am sure that with joint efforts, energy, and knowledge, we will successfully implement it", Cvetanović president of SCTM, stated.

In addition to Leskovac, the Presidency of SCTM include Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Kragujevac, Preševo, Bujanovac, Subotica, Novi Pazar, Surdulica, Zrenjanin, Bačka Palanka, Žabalj, Žitište, Užice, Vrnjačka Banja, Raška, Arilje, Vranje, Medijana - Niš, Veliko Gradište, Babušnica, Mladenovac - Belgrade and Stari Grad - Belgrade.

In the coming period, SCTM Supervisory Board will be chaired by Pantelej - Niš, while elected for the Supervisory Board members were Mali Zvornik, Bogatić, Vrbas and Sjenica.

The following local governments were elected as chairs of SCTM committees:

Committee in Local Self-Government system - Municipality of Kladovo

Committee on Finance and Public Property - City of Čačak

Committee for Economic Development - Municipality of Bač

Committee on Urban Planning, Housing, and Construction - Municipality of Topola

Committee on Communal Services and Energy - City of Sremska Mitrovica

Committee on Environment and Emergency Situations - Municipality of Golubac

Committee on Health and Social Policy - Municipality of Sokobanja

Committee on Education, Culture, Youth, and Sports - Municipality of Požega
